An innovative and ecological process

The composite material used in the manufacture of the planks comes from 95% recycled products and is 100% recyclable. Polymer (HDPE) is the result of a process of reprocessing plastic waste and more specifically plastic bottles. The wood particles come from the recovery of waste from the wood industry.

Our innovative sunshade system is engineered to withstand the test of time. Unlike traditional wood, it will never rot, warp, or crack when exposed to moisture and changing weather conditions. Thanks to its durable composite structure and protective surface layer, the sunshade retains its elegant appearance year after year, offering a reliable, maintenance-free solution that enhances both comfort and design.

Natural colour guaranteed for 20 years

The outstanding benefit of co-extruded protection lies in its exceptional durability. It resists fading for more than 20 years and preserves the authentic wood appearance with remarkable colour intensity.

Just like Hulkwood cladding co-extruded wood composites, the boards are shielded by a thin UV-resistant polymer layer that ensures long-lasting protection.

Thanks to this advanced technology, maintenance is kept to an absolute minimum, while the building’s exterior maintains its original beauty year after year.

A 2 mm-thick aluminium reinforcement

Hulkwood Sunshade profiles are designed to accommodate aluminium reinforcements of 2 mm or 3 mm thickness, in standard dimensions of 30 x 30 mm or 30 x 60 mm, depending on the application and the wind loads to be supported.

These reinforcements absorb the bending forces between two support points, ensuring that the deflection of the profile remains below 1.5 mm.

For ease of installation, Hulkwood cladding sunbreakers can also be supplied with 30 x 30 x 2 mm aluminium reinforcements in 3.85 m lengths.

Finishing caps

Caps for Hulkwood Sunshades are available to ensure a neat finish.

The caps are clipped onto the end of the profiles. It is advisable to add a mastic-glue for better adhesion.

The aluminium tube must be adjusted accordingly to allow for the positioning of the cap.
